Dear Friends
The year
2009-10 was very busy as far as the MOA activities are concerned. We had 6
regional conferences, one state conference, COE at Nashik, WIROC and
Traumacon. With so many academic learning opportunities added to the 3
issues of the Journal of MOA, we can say that MOA is coming closer to
achieving the goals set by the great visionaries who established the
associations of orthopaedic surgeons in Maharashtra.
We have started
a few Fellowships in specific orthopaedic skills and both the fellow and
the guide will be involved in the learning and both will be benefitted.
21 district
associations including Bombay Orthopaedic Society are now affiliated to
MOA. Our association has become the second largest association in IOA with
the membership going up to 1046.
Our unique
programs like patient information booklet are well appreciated all over the
country and now the booklets will be translated in different regional
languages also.
This was all
possible with the guidance of our past presidents namely Dr Tanna, Dr Jog
and Dr C.N.Kulkarni and support from all of you.
I request you
all again to send your suggestions for improving the functioning of MOA.
Day by day we
will be using paperless communications and I urge you all to send your
information in the format enclosed in the NEWS letter of March 2010.
Dr Rajendra
Abhyankar
Hon Secretary
and Treasurer
